My F350 has the original Violet red or whatever it is on it and I am wondering if I should just leave it for old times sake.

I was thinking about painting the truck but that would destroy a original truck classic would it not? Just wondering if a truck has more class looking a little worn in original trim. I would paint it white for work purposes.

Scuff it with 400 wet or dry [wet sand it lightly] and spray a coat of clear to save the paint and patina of the "worn look", but the clear will make it "fresh".

Thanks. I wonder how much a coat of clear would cost. I guess you are saying I can do the prep myself.

Don't be cheap on the clear, and you have to find the best match of chemical to the OEM base color.

never sand in a hurry, do a panel at a time, don't drink more than 3 beers per panel, especially the hood and the bed sides!
Just take your time wetsanding, use soapy water. Use those nice foam pads for holding the sand paper and try to do the final prep work inside.
