Ok right now I can usually only hit about seven pounds of boost but I think its because I am running out of fuel. I should know pretty soon cause I am going to put a newer 7.3 pump on. If this doesn't solve my problem, is there any other options to raise my boost a little??? Maybe a different turbine or exhaust wheel? Heat wrap?

Thanks,
Lance

A non gated banks will make more boost than an idi should handle, Mine had no problems making 14-15 even on a hot summer day, and at -30, it would hit 18. The same turbo on my buddy's 7.3 maxed out around 14, but, he was running a stock pump with the fuel only turned up a little.

Your EGT's will tell the story if your running out of fuel. What are they?

sounds like a wastegated turbo. adjust the linkage out or if your feeling lucky take it off.

Prolly losing boost somewhere. Have You checked?

Usual suspects are the intake hat seal, hold down bolt seal.

Actually that was my next move, to determine if I have boost leaks. I will post pics of my setup later and see if yall have any better ideas.

The probe is after the turbo I think and when the truck is empty I cant get anything higher than 600 degrees even when I try to get it higher.

Hopefully I will have enough time for the 7.3 IP friday night or somethin....

You should take a look at your pyro probe, all of the non-gated setups I have seen have them in the pedestal, pre turbo. Not nearly as quick to react as in the manifold, but, higher temps are still safer than those post. Better to be safe than sorry, about 900 is all you want to see maintained if it's post.

Wrap all you hot side turbo parts with thick heat wrap. My pipes are all wrapped up and my probe is in the manifold, into passenger side rear exhaust port. I see 1300-1400 at the top loaded or not, it just gets there quicker loaded. Boost is anywhere from 12-14.
My stock turbo pump is maxed out an I have G code injectors.
