Could someone give me a measurement from the top of the intake where the air cleaner would set to either the top of the turbo or to a reference point somewhere on the firewall that will tell me about how much room I have from the top of the intake to the bottom of the hood?

That's a round about convoluted way of saying I'm trying to make sure my turbo fits under the hood.

Thanks!

If only I had checked the forums halfway through working on the Enterprise today...

If no one else gets you measurements by tomorrow, I'll get one for ya.

When I have a hood clearence question I take a ball of Play Doe and put it on the air cleaner and close the hood. The hood crushes the Play Doe and leaves a clear trail on how much room is between the hood and air cleaner. Regular clay will work if you don't have little ones.

I don't have the cowl seal installed but I can if it makes it easier. I'm trying to figure out if I'm going to have hood clearance before I get to the point of installing the hood.

Crash, next day or 3 would be great. I'll work with whatever I can get.

11" from this lip on the intake where the intake housing/hat sits...

To this bolt/screw that connects the lip of the cowl panel to the cab. It's the center screw directly above the intake with the engine installed.

Round 2 if I may. Could I get the same measurement from the flat part of the intake to a reference point on the firewall? I have a turbo mount solution that I think will work. My concern is height. It's close enough I'm considering swinging this pig into the frame and checking it but if I can get a measurement first I'd like to try that before going to that trouble.

Won't be until Monday that I'll get to work on the truck again, but I'll give it a shot. Damn firewall shroud is a PITA. Any specific marker on the firewall? And which flat part of the intake (same as last time, center where the stud nut is, or a runner?)?

I'll take the god kobalt tape measure with me and snap a pic.
