Mel... I recalled you had issues driving home from the rally but didn't recall it was pump related. See... Wallmarts are good for something. We wont change our views of you just because you "parked" in their lot....:D I remembered someone did take off the nose cone but didn't want to suggest doing that in the truck do to the possibility of parts falling out and no idea how they go back. Plus that alignment pin is tuff... So are you guys using the rig in front of the hurt moose for a step stool....:dunno:sly

Sorry I didn't see this thread earlier. I could have saved you guys some effort. I learned how to do this 3 years ago, during the 2007 IDI Weekend, when I got the briliant idea to demo the worlds first Moose Pump. It worked great for a few hours. Then the rubber O-ring that seals the nose cone failed. And yes, it can be done IN the truck. IN the horizontal postion. IN a Walmart parking lot (to date, I think the only time the Moose Truck or Agne's for that matter have been in a Walmart parking lot) And yes, I flog myself at nights and cut myself when I'm bored. I spent the rest of that weekend in hell. I don't even want to talk about it anymore.]

Its been an enjoyable learning experience so far.

I generally don't like to open up expensive/complicated things unless I know what I'm doing. Learned that lesson when I worked at a museum, and opened up an old 81mm mortar shell. Despite being painted blue and having "INERT" written all over it, that sucker was LIVE. :idiot: The aneroid fuse assembly was fascinating, but finding the shell still packed with RDX was an OHSHIT moment.:fan:

If I dissect the pump, you all are invited to help me play Dr. Frankenstein and resurrect it from the dead.

Gary, I haven't had an IP problem since the 07' rally when that photo was taken. Last year, we were spitting needle bearings out on I-70 going across Ohio. That was a different problem.
