Lug Nut Torque Specs

1983 Ford F-350, what are the recomended torque specs for the lug nuts?
Someone told me 250 pounds, that seemed rather high to me!

I have a 93 F250 and the lug torque is listed as 140 ft lbs.

General rule is 90-100lb-ft for conical lugnuts (single wheels), and 140lb-ft for flat-washer lugnuts (dually trucks), if not sure of the requirements for the vehicle at hand I go by that. By the way, if you look closely at a lugnut, the torque spec should be stamped on the face of it, right next to the hole for the wheel stud.
