Maintaince record of coolant changes are the MOST important. Bring a SCA test strip with you to check the coolant

Just check the oil for any traces oil coolant and check the coolant for oil. Either one can get quite pricey to fix.

Check for odd wear on the front tires. Could mean bad ball joints, axle pivot bushings, steering linkage or just an alignment. The TTB is not Fords greatest design and adding lift to it does NOT help any.

Other than that anything else that could be wrong with it would be pretty cheap to fix

But 4k sounds steep. Even if it is a cherry

James, mine is for sale for $500 more.

It has a turbo and moose pump already. Plus it's one of them fancy extendy cabs.

Thanks for the offer but I'm really lookin to get a 4x4, every time I buy a truck that's my first question.

Plus from what it sounds like, living without the turbo isn't too terrible.

Going to get some dough together and make this guy an offer, any in put on what you'd offer ?

Just as a side note the tires are at about 40% tread so some new shoes will be required in the near future.

Jesus, maybe I should just say F the whole damn thing.

I mean, I thought the truck was kinda cool...

But I'll make sure to pick one of those up regardless, the more and more a read about diesel the less appealing a gasser sounds...at least any gas motor truck that would get any relatively decent mileage and be jacked up

if its what you want then get it. i paid 2200 for my truck and its only wort about $1500. if its what you want and dont plan on re-sell then i say go for it! heres a pic of mine. not lifted, wore out tires, and a rough body. if i added all the stuff to mine to make it look like that one then i would be in way more than 4k.

And that is why you still have it

nah, I haven't tried selling it anywhere but here. I've been working on my other truck making sure it is 100% reliable. Trucks appear to be worth a little more where I live Brad. I used to buy trucks in Nj/Pa and sell them for twice as much here in Georgia. Only problem was it is very hard to find an older truck that isn't rotten out from Pa, stuff doesn't really rust here in Ga.

You live in the keys? You lucky *******. Good luck finding a truck. I agree with Brad on this one....I think 3k is a bit of a stretch. At least you're doing the right thing and researching and asking questions before you buy. Welcome to the brotherhood and coincidentally the best IDI forum.
