im lookin for a standard 4 speed overdrive manual tranny with the bell housing for an 84 6.9 to swap in down the road. preferably with transfer case but if the one on my c6 will swap over then i can do without. if anyone has one they would be willing to part with eventually let me know and we can work somthing out.

I do not think that there are any 4 speed manuals w/ an OD that will bolt on to a 6.9. 4 speed sticks are all OD free that I know of and those with ODs are 5-speeds. If you wanted a regular 4 speed I could help you out.

Unless you are talking about a separate OD unit which bolts on... in which you would be fairly unlikely to find a 4 speed, t-case, and OD unit all as one deal.

good luck

Their was a 4 with OD in the 70's but I'm not sure if you could put the bellhousing from a T19 onto it, why not just put a ZF5 in it?

You are correct, but all the IDIs used the same bellhousing adapter on the back of the block, so you could take the tranny from a 94 and put it in a 83, the only thing to look out for is the E4OD (slushbox) needed a computer to run it, but you want a manual with overdrive, and a ZF5 would probaly be easiest to find. Look in the tech articals and you will find one about putting a ZF5 from a BBF on a IDI, the reason that I mention this is price, weather new or used if it is for a diesel then people automatically add 50% more for the same part.

swapping in a zf5 would require new drivelines though im guessing?

If by "drivelines" you mean driveshafts... then just about any swap is gonna require shortening or lengthening your existing shafts. I have a complete rebuilt T19, BW1345.... bellhousing back including shafts from an ex-cab available but it sounds like you need to do a little more research to figure out what is required and what you want. If you want bolt-on OD, you are stuck with a ZF5 or E4OD... or a T19 or C6 with an aux. overdrive unit.
