So, today I went for a long drive. I went about 275 miles from L.A. to Palms Springs then on down to Bombay Beach at the Salton Sea. Outside temps were about 105+ and my new motor ran steady at 200 deg with the air on. One time while waiting in a drive thru line for some eats it went up to 215 but cooled down when I got back on the freeway. I tested the stat and know when it opens so I feel my Isspro gage is off about 5 deg or so. I checked the stat housing in a rest stop when the coolant was 200 and the laser gun said the stat housing was 185. All the head exhaust ports were about the same at 197 when the pyro said about 250. My oil pressure seems low. I need 2100 rpm to see 40 psi. At any temp and idle its always 10 psi. At 55 mph I'm seeing about 28 to 30 psi. I will probably look into the gage and then the rear oil cooler header thats new. Maybe I have some crap holding it open. At least I'm hoping its not something I missed. No odd knocking or thumping noises. Just really a lot of stump pulling torque from way dow low all the way up to 2800 rpm. I don't run on the governor EVER or even close.... ;p
