Ummm, what? :dunno And why were you barehanded with no coat? Glad you got it sorted out though.

There isn't enough work to keep me going a full week, so what happens is I get a day or two of work, and that is just enough to keep me from getting E.I. I worked just before Christmas, one or two days last week and I was supposed to work yesterday and today....but the hoist packed it in on the old Louisville......never fails!

I'm just trying to figure out why he has one under his hood to power his ip?

The PO had a wiring NIGHTMARE done to this thing when I got it. GP's came on with the key...when they wanted to, IP was on a toggle switch and the timing advance/high idle was non existant.

I dropped a constant duty solenoid in, ran a trigger wire and used all that to power up a mini fuse panel under the hood. My 4 - 100 watt back up lights, FSS, high idle and advance run off it, the GP's, run off it, the CB radio is tapped into it and I can't remember what else. Just a little homebrew to keep my truck a little easier to work on under the hood.

Yes.... He has done some cleanup from the PO of his truck.... he has mounted a fuse panel on the inner fender and runs everything from it.. his ele fuel pump, GP's IP and other things from it.. and it has a constant duty solenoid so it does not receive power when the "ignition" is off..... I remember him talking about this in another thread......

Exactly! Saved a pile of headaches!
