I bet it needs more than the roof redone. I have done one of those before, what a mess. You can patch the walls and the lower portions and get by, but to do it right you have to pull all the siding off and rebuild it. All those leaks settle in the bottom of the camper and rot the corners out. You will find(probably like he did already) that those nice new jacks have nothing to bolt to. It can be fixed I have done it, but it's a lot of time and work. Just make sure all the "camper" stuff is good, they want a fortune for camper appliances and A/C units.
Precisely why Im buying it. The AC unit and stove are worth more then I'm paying for it. The guy seems pretty straight up. He just bought it... guy told him it had a roof leak but said it was repaired. The guy was in a rush so he loaded it up and went on his way. Got it home and saw some water spots on the ceiling... tore down the panels to find the roof pretty well gone. He said he pealed a few of the interior wall panels back and didn't find any rot. Said the floor and walls all feel solid. Corners are still solid as the pictures he sent me are of it sitting on it's jacks covered with a tarp to prevent further water damage. He also said he tested everything in it and everything works as it should. We'll be testing everything here before he leaves.
We'll see when he gets it here though. He's driving 2 hours and I was pretty clear to him that if things were not as he said.. he could keep it loaded up and head back home. I'm not exactly trusting of people but who knows... I'll get my moneys worth anyways.
