Well it kind of fluctuates with me. I've recorded a high of 22 and down to 15mpg.

If I keep him at 60 on the highway I'll average out about 18.5mpg with the canopy of course. Around town I'm seeing around 16mpg.

I pride myself on steady driving without mashing the throttle all the time. Steady starts and not surging the engine goes alot towards mileage. With biodiesel I got slightly less mileage, but at .85 a gallon I really don't care. I've been hearing good reports from my friend about biodiesel and acetone. About a shotglass of acetone to about 20 gallons of fuel and his Cumapart was getting about 23mpg! That'll be my next test when it warms up enough for me to run B100.

Sorry for the long post, but I'm very thorough.;Sweet

SO, Has anyone had experiance with using the wind deflectors when towing a trailer.
Thought about getting one on a canapy so it would be closer to the TT? Is it worth the trouble?

I've heard the stories about acetone helping fuel mileage. I'd be afraid it might doa number on thes internal seals of the IP. 23mpg is pretty good, but its not unheard of for a Cummins. They are smaller displacement, have 2 fewer cylinders, and in stock trim, not turning out probably quite the ponies of the IDI especially with a turbo. On the whole, they are a slightly nore efficient engine to start off with.

With the truck stock (4.10 rear end, E40D, F-250 factory turbo) I got 21mpg at a constant 55mph, 16 at 65mph and 13 at 75mph. Towing my motorcycle trailer (20' box) I got 16mpg at 55-60mph.

Last year I swaped out for 3.55's and now get 16mpg towing the trailer at 65-70mph. Haven't driven it empty since switching for long enough to get a mileage reading, but I'd guess its somewhere between 17-20mpg at 65-70mph. Should find out this weekend:)
