Wow I put almost 1000 miles on my truck last week haha

I've always been curious as to how many of our trucks have been used for work as opposed to being used for infrequent truck duties. A '86 truck such as mine driven 12k miles/year would have 336k on it if it had been subjected to "average" use it's whole life. Like I mentioned earlier in the thread, mine was always used infrequently. I would assume that most trucks that were used primarily as work trucks have long since been scrapped. My assumption then is that most of our trucks have been subjected to well below average use. Even trucks that have maybe 150-250k would have been used less that what would be considered average, unless it's '94 then 250k might be somewhat normal usage. Of course, it's not always possible to know how many times the odo has rolled over. It's kind of interesting to think about and the fact that there are so many of our trucks out there still really says something.

Ya my truck was used by the original owner to drive to Vermont on a regular bases, then it sat for a while and his neighbor bought it and fixed it up(the body anyway) and then sold it to my friend, who gave up on it and sold it to me cheap, and it has stayed in the same town the whole time! I use it as a daily driver to commute to work 70 mile round trip 6 days a week plus I use it to make some extra side money, last week I hauled a few trailer loads around the state, but usually I put maybe 5-600 miles a week.

glad you caught that, I always manage to miss it when it happens
the only one I ever got a picture of was when my insurance wanted the mileage on my van one year, I read it, went into the house to get the Polaroid, then drove around the block a couple times, mileage I sent them (with a picture) was 123456.7

Many people have commuter cars and only use their trucks when they need a truck.

I'm the opposite from that one, I drive my truck every day, and most of my other cars get an oil change once a year

I hear you guys on not driving the trucks much. My Super Duty got the oil changed last on January 20. In the 3 months since I've put on 1350 miles, including two 250 mile trips. Kinda sad sometimes just seeing it sit there, but that how it goes.
