my friend has a '55 it's the coldest fridge i've ever seen, it works flawlessly (it's a '55 the seals are stones!) and it's super quiet barley any hum. oh and the coils on the back have a fill 1/8" skid plate, you could ride it down the stairs. they made air conditioners too....

I had one exactly like that at the house I bought. I hauled it 600 miles to my Brother in law who is really into ih stuff. I should have kept it though......I just bought an ih tractor and I might catch the bug.

I hate to ruin your day but the dark side is who IH bought the mowers from to rebadge. That pushmower is nothing more than a Lawnboy. While some were half decent for the most part they were crap. I've tangled with a few that were nothing but trouble from start to finish. I will admit I have one now but it has a tecumseh engine on it instead of the one which was made by Lawnboy.

As for the fridge I wish I could find one for my garage. Neighbor had one he modified to hold his beer kegs. While it was a shame he cut a hole in the door he had the coldest beer in the area.

Well...the tractor I bought is a IH 666 I can't find a lot of info on them but some people call them the devil tractor..I don't have it home yet and it needs a little work but I think its going to be a perfect tractor for me. I probably won't ever get too brand loyal with my farm equipment, I have bought a jd planter and a brush mower that I can't read the name on. My dad has a 1066 that was a little too big for what I want to do so I think this is a good size for me.

I've never dealt with an IH tractor that wasn't a good machine. I could have killed my mother for giving away my little cub and all the attachments because she couldn't get it started.

my friend has a Farmall M , also had an A and an I4. the M is a pulling tractor that takes part in work on his tiny "farm", it always fires right up and runs smooth as silk (it had ALOT of engine work done to it, he let me pop a wheelie on it...by far the COOLEST thing i've ever done!!! ) the A and the I4 always started and worked great even with nasty fuel that was years old. my other friend bought the I4 and it runs good and never asks for anything. the friend with the M said he tried other tractors to see what all the JD hype was about. he said the JD was the worst tractor he ever had, it started hard, and its steering was soo awful he said it would have been better if there was no wheels on the front at all.... he had completely rebuilt the JD too so it wasn't like it was a wore out falling apart pos. he said the parts were 3 times what the IH tractors are. the JD had alot of motor work done to it too, yet the guy that bought it off him cannot keep up with him at the pulls. i'm going on first hand experience i've had with them and what my friends have had with them.... if i didn't see it in person i wouldn't talk bad about it.

Huh, never had a problem with our JD 3020 (made in 1968) except decade old batteries. What series of tractor did your friend have? I can spin the steering wheel on ours with my pinky to get it to turn on a dime when I'm raking windrows. Only one complaint I have is it HATES our 3pt snowblower lol.

Before we bought our JD, we did have a Farmall M narrow front. Dad got it for a sweet deal on ebay and we found out why when the guy delivered it in the dark. Battery box rusted out (under the seat), exhaust manifold cracked, leaking fuel line/bowl, shot worm gear and the transmission growled like an old bear. Once we put spent some money fixing it up, it ran like a champ though! All about how you maintain stuff. Doubled our investment and used it for a partial trade on the JD above.

A little further off topic, I have to speak up for our British Leyland 383 diesel tractor (made in 1972). It has been the most reliable tractor I've ever known that I've never heard of. Never replaced a part on it outside of regular maintenance until last year when the IP finally gave out. Had to throw a little gold star in for the Leyland after plowing snow all day and watching the fuel level never move.

Back on topic, I like that fridge! A little too far out to go pick up...and nowhere to put it.

94turboidi, I like that IH 666 tractor! Devil or not, it should get the job done.

If it makes any difference I know the guy (I think -I sent him an e-mail this AM) that is selling it. Great guy I hauled many a tractor and farm impliments from his place. I would trust him with my life.
