Update:

New Dayton springs and shackles are in. Front end clunk is gone, and definitely the road bumps aren’t as jarring as they used to be! Rides as good as a 90s Ford TTB Dana 50 can I guess lol

Total cost was $1126 out the door, which I felt was a very fair price, the same parts from rockauto alone are $697. The spring shop didn’t mark up the part prices at all, So I paid little over 400 bucks to have the shop do it in 1 day CORRECTLY vs me struggling in my driveway all weekend, and as you can see we have snow on the ground here in CT this week, so no thanks.

Next stop alignment shop! Gonna drive to it tomorrow for about 100+ miles get the springs settled hopefully then it goes Monday for alignment.

Sure know the feeling hiring stuff out that you can do. A whole nuther debate! Anyway with new spring how much space at bump stop? Mine are less than an inch and I’ve considered what you did or timbrens to KISS.

It was a tough call, but when he told me the parts price and said he uses Dayton parts, I already knew how much they were from rockauto in my head, so I said sure let’s do it. I just refreshed my entire front end by myself brakes, bearings, pivot bushings. I saved enough money to justify treating myself to 400 in labor lol

I just went and measured the truck, drivers side is just over 1.75 inches and passenger is 1.5ish

It’s not currently parked on level ground, and I’ve only driven 50 miles since I’ve got it, planning on doing 100 more today and I will park on level ground and measure again.

I unfortunately didn’t take a picture of the wheel well measurement, but based on memory I’m up over 1 inch in the front end, and the truck is level now no rake.

Final thoughts: I’m glad I did it, truck has always served me well, and I could have saved money by doing just the bushings and leaving in the add a leaf, but sometimes you gotta cry once and be done. I wont have to redo these anytime soon lol (hopefully!!)

I did my spring bushing and an add-a-leaf plus all the axle work you've done and I agree that for that price it's a good deal! You saved a lot of hours and cursing for sure. LOL

Update: Got it aligned, drives nice and straight now.

I had to get new adjustable camber bushings, since with new pivot bushings and springs I was WAY OFF. It cost me more than I was expecting, but its done right and that's what matters most. (At least thats what I tell myself to sleep at night)

Needs new steering linkage, mine is pretty sloppy, but that's a spring time project! Ill go back and have the alignment touched up after that.
