I have a return line kit that has 8 copper washers in it, where are they put/used. The caps and o rings are pushed on and new line must be cut and new clamps used but the copper washers:dunno

they go under the injectors. If you dont need to take out your injectors then you dont need them.

The copper washers are for injector installation. The fit the bottom of the injector and seal the compression from leaking out past the injector in the heads.... The large injector body threads do not seal the injector in the head... They only are there so the injector will stay in the head.

Just to be sure we are talking about the same thing as I know about the injector compression seal. These washers are about 9/32id and 19/32od and about1/16 thick I thought the injector washers were bigger.:dunno

the only other copper washer on these trucks I can think of is at the front calipers where the brake hoses attach. Hard to mix them up.

And like I said earlier dont think that just because the kit comes with copper washers that you need to replace them. If the injectors are fine just leave them be.

Well... Ok... Lets see what we are talking about here... You stated that you bought a return line kit... In that kit you found some copper washers and wondered where they go... If all this is so and you have 8 of these washers... They belong on the ends of each injector when you are installing them... No reason to install new washers on the injectors if all your working on is the return line kit. Old bull has a great picture where these washers go. Hopefully this gives a little more information to help all understand what the "extra pocket parts" are for... Usually when we buy a complete engine gasket set there are some gaskets that we don't use because they are for a differant oil cooler or other application. Its just easier to include them than it is to exclude them... Then the manufacture needs to have two or more differant gasket sets in inventory... Make sence now.....:sly:dunno:D

Not a problem 2stroke.... Thats why most of us are on this site... We could probably make a good living charging for these free answers but thats not what its about.... We all had the same questions when we got to working on these rigs in the begining....:D
