Sup Burners,

Found a 85 f350 on Cl with a 93 7.3 Idi turbo

This fits on 6.9?

Is it likely a ats 093? If so what's a good price to offer

To make a real offer, you need to have turbo in hand and inspect it. Going from an add will generate minimal offers and the seller may feel low balled. Unless he can prove condition (rebuilt etc) plan on going through it before install. I’d go look in person and find out his bottom dollar then decide if it’s agreeable to you. Being complete is very important, it can be hard to find parts. Fitment can also be dependent on manual or automatic transmission. That turbo will fit a 6.9 or 7.3. If it’s from an automatic ask for transmission dip stick tube. Hope this helps. Definitely go look at it.

Yes, it does. The 7.3 IDI (sold from 88-94) is just a bored out 6.9. The 093 is a factory one typically, you'll know because it'll say Ford on the airbox lid.

There are aftermarket ones that don't say Ford though:

Without seeing any pictures, it's hard to say what turbo is on there. As said before, these turbos will fit all 7.3 and 6.9 engines (transmissions sometimes call for a different turbo) so it could be any turbo on there. Just because it's supposed to be a 7.3 from a 1993 doesn't mean much by itself. Remember far more 7.3s were sold N/A than were sold with the optional turbo in 1993.

Turbo going onto the 6.9 might warrant a change in head bolts to studs.

My 1985 6.9 has had an 085 turbo since probably 1985 and I doubt it got head studs. But, it's also got less than 100k miles and fuel isn't turned up high (probably), so.... it's probably fine given my partcular setup. An 093 might not be the case though.
