I appreciate the tip. I would’ve ideally machined a push loc style barb, but I don’t have the capabilities on my mill to do so.

As you mentioned, these can be difficult to put the hose on. These barbs bite hard. In fact, you probably don’t even need clamps. If you use decent diesel rated hose, you won’t cut it with these barbs. They really aren’t that sharp. Of course, a little grease during assembly never hurts!

Yes, some grease should be used to help assemble. The larger ones like the -12 going to my power steering reservoir, is more of a challenge where put the hose in a vice and tapped them on with a rubber mallet. I have this that worked well for all the smaller ones in use.

Your welcome and far enough.

16 of the push lock fittings by the E-bay listing would add $91.04 to the total cost. Plus what ever the tax rate in your State.

Never had a problem with the Spring Clamps, they can be reused.
Yeah with Push lock never use a Clamp.

After an emergency roadside fix I've run sections of return line without clamps on plastic caps and no leaks or air intrusion. I kept forgetting to add the clamps later because it just worked. Maybe the slightly small diameter of 1/4 vs 7mm makes all the difference?

Fired it back up last night. Making more as needed. Looking forward to hearing some feedback. Thanks guys

I like the idea of clamping without “clamps”

Went back and seen a recent post I think his picture, and post described what I was thinking about as well.

Clamping without clamps… :)

I just came across these again. The link to the eBay page shows no page available. Are they still available?

I found this, I think it's the right link? Looks as if there are Chinese knockoffs now, too.
Huh? The ad is exactly the same as the original. The seller is the same. What gives the impression that these are now imported knock-offs?

I purchased a set some months back and no problems. Expensive but I do like 'em better than the plastic. Bummer about the counterfeits.
