What Log Book????
I have a 71 Bronco that I would love to drop an IDI in. Couple problems though. 1. I already have a built & balanced 351W for it
2. I was planning on an NP435 tranny. Anybody know if that would bolt up to an IDI with an adaptor? I have the stock 3sp so the NP435 is not set in stone.
3. I'm going with a 5.5" lift which is a pretty soft suspension. I have the front coils already but no other parts of the suspension. how badly would the IDI crush the front end down? I could use the 5.5 up front & 4.5 leafs in the back to get a level stance I guess
4. I'd have to horse trade for all the stuff I need. Would a built 351w bring an even trade for an IDI with the goodies included (ie. turbo, IP, INJ's)
I've seen a ton of these broncos converted to the 4BT cummins with good success & power/weight ratios. What's the thoughts on the IDI? everyone chime in.....

unfortunately i honestly dont think it is a phiesable plan a 7.3 is going to make that thing WAAAYYY front heavy if you can even shoehorn it in there. IIRC the bellhousing from a t18 will bolt to a 435 but why not a t18 to start with? but then you will have to hope you have enough room left for a driveline.
if u take a ford t-19 and change the outputshaft to accept the D20 bullgear then drill and tap the rear of the trans for the adapter plate it'll work, i guess! i just used the 2wd ford t-19 then a divorced NP205. we'll see how that goes together. and i got the +"18 longer scout with a body lift so i have some more room to play.
