got a 2001 ford f450 250k replaced lpop "mellings", hpop "t500" , injectors, icp, ipr, tested harness, no codes no/hard start everything checks out but icp pressure is way high at 1700 psi. when does start runs like **** possible bad new injector, but really concerned about high icp. replaced icp again was good for a day then high again

This is how I check with an AE. Can't show the readout (Illustration). Below is from my PDF file.
Do you get a 1211 code?
How are you retreiving your codes?

1. Verify Fuel and Oil Quality
a. Oil should have < 5000 miles
b. Minimum CI-4 rating
c. Level should be within hash marks on dipstick
2. Verify Fuel Pressure
a. 20psi at idle minimum
b. 30-70psi at WOT with full load
i. If in park/neutral at WOT expect 26 – 28 psi
3. Check Oil Level in HPOP reservoir
a. Should be within 1” of the top
b. Hex key plug on right top of reservoir
4. Check ICP Sensor
a. Key On Engine OFF
b. ICP should = 0
i. If not replace ICP
5. Check for Oil Aeration
a. In Park/Neutral Hold vehicle at WOT for 3 minutes
i. If ICP increases above 1250psi change engine oil
6. Check IPR Duty Cycle Under Load
a. Drive Vehicle at WOT under full load
i. Short burst is fine excessive speed is not needed
ii. If IPR Duty Cycle increases above 65% Replace IPR Valve
1. See Illustration Below

Has the air been purged from the system yet? Are these the symptoms your are seeing afterwards or has the truck been run for some time since the HPOP and injector replacement?
The icp reading, is this at idle or with trottle? What is the duty cycle showing? Just trying to get some more history since you've had the HP oil system opened up.

Have you inspected the wiring harness for the fuel filtersensors and ipr? Spilled diesel from filter changes has been known to eat the insulation off the wires in that harness causing a short in the ipr wires.

Wouldn't that blow up the engine or are they really designed to run THAT long at WOT?

With a load on it,yes.with no load,i woudnt do it.

Take it out turn off the overdrive if auto,4th gear if manual, run it about 40 miles at 40mph.or just drive it like you stole it.

Exactly.
He has his answer already.
Starting fine with it unplugged is dead giveaway.
Unless there is a HPO leak somewhere or the HPOP itself.

What the crap. Don't know how that happened.
Anyways when you unplug the ICP it defaults the HPO system to a higher pressure.
