At the swapmeet today I just happened to be walking along and I see some old peterbilt fenders....seeing these piqued my interest and I explored further in to the booth and what do I stumble upon?







A beautiful pair of chrome slash cut 5" diameter, 4' tall stacks, off a Peterbilt!!! The guy took $40 forthe pair and I was happily on my way with my toys over my shoulder and black soot on my hands. And after a little chrome polish they look brand spanking new

Welllllll......funny story about that , you see my truck is currently undergoing repair, to the tune of New headgaskets... and I just bought the Stacks today, soooooooo i have some work todo and I has no source of income as of right now except for unnemployment

Now I just need to figurebout to make the transition from 2.25" pipe to a 5" pipe and get a Tee to go to the stacks.

So my plan for how these are gonna be mounted is I'm gonna cut the corners out of the bed and turn it around or get some sheet metal and building a new corner but reveresed and runthe stacks right behind the cab.

I think that makes sense?

When you install these, it's either rig a drain at a low point or park it with coffee cans over the tops when it rains

Actually that's what I was thinking of doing, but I'm not gonna have the stacks exit "inside the bed" what I'm gonna do is "box out" or "notch" the corner of the bed and have the stacks come out there in the Peterbilt essence

I wouldn't cut the bed corners out. You'll lose all the strength in the bedsides, without some pretty substantial brace work. Maybe you could scrounge up some 6-7" auger tube, or industrial ducting, instead. Drop back, just behind the stake pocket, and section halves in there. It won't be fully recessed, but it would look cool, and it won't surrender as much of your cargo space.

Id lose strength of the bed even if I boxed it out and added a few braces to it?

So today at the show I made another amazing discovery

$15.00!!!!! Looks like it's never even been used. It's P/N 82335, black face. Brome bezel. And summit has the sending unit in stock for $60. Overall I tho k I done quite good this weekend
