It sounds like it could be coming from the oil pressure sending unit. It is mounted at the top of the engine, in the back. Maybe it's time for a new one.

Is the gauge working? If it's a mechanical gauge, could the line be leaking? When my 93 was leaking oil from the top side of the engine, it turned out to be my WMO leaking from a broken return line cap.

Are you sure it's actually oil? Could be diesel fuel washing off old oil and dirt deposits, and the source is actually the return lines circuit like in Gary's case.

Mine leaked from the nipple between the oil pressure sender and the engine. An easy fix if that's the problem.

Since yor profile isn't completely filled out on your truck I have to ask, do you have a turbo? If so, it may be from the drain hose or grommet. If not, clean everything really well, then run it and see where it's coming from.

Get the back of the engine real clean and dry. Then you will be able to see where the leak is coming from. Make sure the valley pan drain is open and working.

yes there is oil on his firewall. not much if any getting to the ground. a guy told him it was a headgasket. but no oil in coolant and no water in oil. maybe cdr valve on back of intake?

i would bet on either the CDR or the grommet for it.

thats kinda what i was thinking too. course i wasn't sure. then we pulled the motor out of this other truck and it showed similar oil leaks but not from the head. i said something about valley pan gasket.
