i know this isn’t the right way but with my new ip I set it and it was very retarded. I had to Hotwire the cold idle advance just to get the white smoke to stop bellowing. I adjusted it today. Do you think this is a safe amount? Before with it set off cold idle it smoked white at idle, giving it throttle produced heavy white smoke, and the coolant would start to shoot up. With the cold advance jumped the white smoke disappeared and the coolant spike dropped off.

Run it and see how it feels and runs? There's now way to really tell but a dimes width of timing would be estimated 3-5 degrees maybe? But all pumps are different their timing curves change with age and ware

If you can tell the difference between the cold advance and fast idle I will say your ok. On a cold engine the startup sounds like a powerstroke. Then as it drops out you really can tell and hear the difference.
