High Speed Vibration?

Just started doing this today. Around 60-65 MPH I'm getting what sounds like a humm/vibration, really sounds like its coming from the passenger side area. Its hard to explain the sound, maybe what the truck sounds like when your cruising fast with OD off, but mine is kicking in, im at around 2k RPM at 60 or so mph. After I get past 65mph the sound seems to dissapear. I did however replace the carrier bearing the day before.

Wheels out of balance?. U joints OK? Wheel bearings ok? Motor Mounts OK? Rear axle bearings ok?. Does the harmonic balancer have a wobble to it. Does it do it when just hitting the go pedal not moving?

It only does it when I put the foot on the ho pedal. I let off it, seems like it goes away. Ill check everything tomorrow. Its weird it started it once I replaced the carrier bearing, but it dont sound like a noise coming from the rear.

JUst drove to work, feels like around 50mph you can startto hear it and around 60mph you can feel the vibration. Now when I did the carrier bearing is there any chance I didnt get it aligned perfect and it being off maybe quarter inch to one side do this?

Yes, the bearing alignment can cause a vibration. Look at the dirt around the bolt pads or run a piece of string from the rear to the front u joint. Look for it being out of alignment.

MAke sure the pinion isnt loose. Cant get these out of phase, big wide indexing spline.

I checked all the universals they seem all tight, made sure all the bolts are tight and they are. I did notice it looks like the drive shaft is slid into the transfer case a little more than it use to be. I still need to locate some dang string to check to see if its straight.

IT goes away when I let off the throttle.

One more question, when the carrier bearing goes on and if it isnt all the way pushed on will that be a possible cause of vibration.

APparently it started.eating into the transfer case rear seal and now its leaking! It has ATF in it but whats leaking looks like used oil. Does tje ATF need changed? I also noticed when I checked the fluid there were what looked like shavings in it. I hope it's not bad. And hopegully the driveshaft being that far In is what was causing the vibration.

I'm hoping it's not the transmission doing this!

Driveshaft is out of balance more than likely. check and make sure all the weights are still on it.
