high idle solenoid

okay so my high idle has never worked since i bought my truck. never really worried about it till now so i found the sensor in the head doesn't work so i jumped the hight idle solenoid to see if it works. it extends but doesn't get close to the throttle lever? is it adjustable or something i know the ip has been replaced by the po maybe he didnt put it back on right or something

The end of that rod should look like a little hex nut, all you have to do is turn it until it reaches the idle you want, it can be stubborn at time like mine was.

okay thats what i figured when i see it i just didn't want to start moving and adjusting things without knowing what was going on thanks
