Love it! I've been thinking about getting a cheap beater to commute with to my new job , I think that would fit the bill! Although I might never get there!:backoff

That reminds me of my buddy's GT he drove in High school, I'm still not sure why they would make a "GT" version!:dunno

I wonder if a moose pump would fit???:sly

It's funny, I havent seen one of those old body escorts around in years.
I had an 85 tempo diesel years ago that someone gave me, needed lots of work, never ended up getting it going. Had a heck of a time trying to get parts for it.

I have to wonder what they mean when they say, "needs oil filter."

I called a guy about a Rabbit diesel for sale once and he said the oil filter had vibrated so hard, that it snapped off at the base, which I have heard of happening. Thing is, he wouldnt let me come down and put a new filter on it, said I had to go ahead and buy as is. Yeah, with a blown up engine due to lack of oil!;Really

What engine is in that thing? not an idi im assuming. Man its too bad ford doesnt make a diesel car. I put the blame on the epa for trying to outlaw diesel engines.

I would be willing to bet it is an IDI most diesels of that era were remeber the main reason the term IDI is in the title of this forum is to differntiate between the mechanicle 7.3 wich uses indirect injection and the powerstroke 7.3 wich uses direct injection.

The tempos and escorts came with a mazda diesel, so i was told. I remember the one I had, had the IP mounted at the back of the motor, two timing belts.
