Okay I'm new to this forum. Basically I have a 1992 Ford 7.3 IDI that the flex plate came apart and blew out the transmission housing last month. Got the tranny rebuilt and swap into another case. Installed it today, go to fire it up and she wouldn't start. Found out that I wasn't getting 12volts on both wires going to the top of the injector pump. I ran two jumper wires from the battery to the two spade connectors on the top of the injector pump, and it fires up fine. But my oil pressure gauge and tachometer gauge is not working either. I'm just seeing if anyone has been down this road before and could help. I have a fluke multimeter. Any help would be greatly appreciated

The oil pressure sending unit is in the center valley at the back of the block it could have been knocked off during transmission work.

The tachometer feeds off of the sensor in the injection pump front cover on front of the engine. It's a simple 2 wire sensor. I would check for damage at the sensor. They tend to be the most likely part to fail if the tach is not working.

I found a blown MAXI fuse under the hood. It was in spot marked K. Don't have any fuses might make a run to auto parts store and see if it works. Could just this fuse be the culprit?

WElcome to the forum. Yes, that fuse is your electrical problem. Might try using another fuse from some other location in the fuse box but see what then wont work. Just swapping to see if things work. But you still need a fuse.

I put a new fuse in and hooked back up the 2 wires to the top of the injector pump....and she will start. But the oil gauge and tach still will not work

Did you check both sending units to make sure they are connected?

Yep. I started unplugging and plugging back in all the connector I could find about 3 times each. Maybe one was a little dirty, I dont know. But everything is working fine now.
