I have some questions. Ok first off I have a 93 f-super duty 2wd dually with the 10 lug axles. I am using this chassis and engine for a rat rod build. I wanted to put some 16s or 19.5 rims from American forces on it. I talked to Alcoa and they made some but recalled them back in 2000 and do have any replacements. So i did some research and I think I can use the 99-04 f250/f350 8x170mm axles and use 19.5 rims, but is the front 2wd axle a solid I beam like mine? What do you guys think about this? And could i just change hubs on my 10 lug axles to 8 lug or no?

Hahahaha yeah I paid 1500 for the 7.3 and like 500 for the 1950 gmc, 400 for the flatbed so yeah it would still be more than I have in it so far but I want some bigger wheels and thats all I can find unless I get some 19.5s from a 3500 that has the same lug pattern but I have to punch out the hub bore to make it fit. Right now I cut sections from the ford cab to patch holes on the gmc cab and fill in the middle where I am widening it about 9 inches. I saw it on youtube and I figured it would be alot easier to fit the 50 gmc cab onto the ford chassis and still keep most of the interior and dashboard. Just more sheet metal and fabrication work but keep the factory heat/seat and just about everything else. I just want it to be a rat rod in the cheap and use what you have factor but still look badass and not dumb.

Ratrods are only built because one lacks the talent to do things correctly
I have been building hotrods, customs, and sleds for the better part of 2 decades.
It's a shame this hobby went so trendy. Build it right, or don't do it at all.
The piles of unsafe garbage people try to pass off as a mediocre hotrod is what gives the rest of us with unfinished cars a bad name. SMH

Yeah well everyone has their own interests and the cab i found was beyond full restoration and will have a tubular frame within the cab for structure and safety tied into the frame with track bars so it will be pretty safe and all of the mechanical parts are stock 7.3 IDI parts.

Thank you!!! I also wanted more options for rims and thought this was one of the easiest ways. I even found the same American force rim style in 19.5 for about 1900 on some website but i just bought new tires for my truck not that long ago. I still really haven't decided what to do, I mean its a rat rod and shouldn't have expensive rims on it but so what.

Meh,"tradition" is overrated.
Personally, I don't like many aftermarket wheels. Some I like, but in no way do I like them enough to buy them.

Thanks though man and If I keep this truck forever (which i plan on) then i might buy those wheels when i have enough change to throw around. This truck will probably go through a lot of changes

rat rods are cool, forces are cool on blingy show trucks, but IMO they dont match.. just my opinion though.
peronsally, id get some UPS or breadvan 19.5s for a truck rat rod.

Yeah I can see it now. lol my 16in steelies look pretty decent painted flat black and the 19.5 steelies would make it look a lot better. Thanks Greg5OH. Plus they are cheaper.

newer superduty f450/550 2wd fronts are tube axles. not drop ibeam. looks just like a 4x4 axle without a pumpkin and shafts.
