Greetings one and all, an introduction.
Name's Dave ( duh), I'm partial to older diesels that don't use computers. I know, I know, but that is just me. I also perfer sleeved engines. must be designed for a million plus miles. Again, just me. Projects include an '87 ford f250 lariat work truck with a 6.9 idi (NA) , 88 chev box truck ( makes a nice mobile shop) and a '62 chevy short bed that is going to get a diesel to replace the broken 230 stovebolt 6. ( currect canidate idea is M-B 300d turbo 5 Cyl and coresponding auto trans) I'm willing intertain engine ideas for conversation as it's my toy.... if it will pull, fine, but if not, it has to climb an overpass with out slowing much and it must be diesel. I own an Hanomag diesel that had problems with that even as a pick up ( empty ) . I dont mind modifying, if it makes sense, but not for it's own sake.
