Just signed up to the forum... but have been reading and referring to this forum for a couple years. I recently purchased a 1989 F450 with a flatdeck from a buddy of mine. The 7.3 that was in it was smoking a lot and was wore out. So he had a 6.9 that was tight and put that in. Regardless, he gave me the 7.3, and there are 2 extra IP's with it. Also truck had brand new tires on it too! Anyhow, I want to use this truck to pull a 36ft 5th wheel with, when i need to. (he also gave me a 5th wheel hitch.) My dilemma, is my work may find a use for hauling cartage with it! Decisions! Any how, see you all in the forum and I look forward to all your experiences and whips on the oil burner forum. Cheers Joose

Welcome from another BC'er

Those are a stout truck for sure, maybe a little underpowered with a NA diesel.

Not highway-fast with the 4.63 or 5.13 gears they had. A good match for in-town cartage though.
