My truck 88 f250 7.3 no turbo has always had a hard time starting. Guy I got it from said it had new glow plugs. It normally takes 20 secs to turn over cold. When I start it warm it does fine but even just sitting for an hr makes it hard to start. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Here's the thing - how long do the glow plugs cycle for? If it's less than like 10 seconds when cold, and the "after cycles" are just "click-click, click-click"(it's not staying on for at least a half-second each time), your glow plug controller is short cycling.

Air intrusion usually manifests with it firing up almost instantly, revving up and then dying a few seconds later, after which you have to crank for a bit before it starts again.
