So when I fired up Frank the Tank (it was -10) the other night to clear drifts, on my return trip I noticed this lovely Hantzel & Gretel trail coming up the driveway. I thought, “hmm, blew a hydraulic line on the plow - it happens”. I parked immediately, to be greeted by a hazmat level disaster forming under the truck.

Frank dumped his whole load of oil. Upon additional inspection, there’s a a bit of green antifreeze.

Neat.

My question: when an oil cooler decides to give up the ghost, is this how it manifests itself?

I would think so. When mine went out on my old truck it was dumping oil out when I was trying to start it.... didn’t dump and coolant but a ton of oil

The o-rings can fail both ways. You can get an external leak or you can get oil in your cooling system (internal leak).
