Ok since it got down to the 60's-70's I am using the glow plugs and after I start the truck, The glow plug light stays on but very faintly, sometimes it flickers and goes off. GP controller?

Do I just turn the key on while I hold a test light to the GP's?

This morning it was about seventy and after about ten secs on the GQP's it had to crank for almost 15 secs before it fired up. When it started the exhaust covered the entire area with white smoke. It's not even cold yet and this is already becoming a problem. Any suggestions?

No need to hold the key on. Take the test light wire and hook it to the positive side of the battery. Take the pointed end of the test light and touch it the tip of the glow plug after you taken the wire off the tip of the glow plug. If the test light lights the glow plug is good. If it does not light then you found a bad one.

If you have any bad glow plugs remove them as I stated here in another thread and replace.

If you do not find any bad ones then you could have a fuel issue in which case I would check the fuel pump first to make sure it is pumping fuel as it should. If you have a bad fuel pump the truck will have hard starts but will start. Running these trucks with a bad fuel pump can tear up the injection pump. If the fuel pump checks out good then change the fuel filter as it can be partially clogged.

Yeah I got the fuel system, I will check the GP's tonight, this problem started as soon as it dropped below 90 so its gotta be it.
