gas c6 auto to first gen cummins
hey all,

is there a way to get a gas c6 auto to fit a first gen cummins out of a 1990 cummins truck? What about the diesel c6?

Will a 727 bolt up to a married ford np205?

this all is coming out of a 1990 cummins dodge 4x4.

i want to put it in a 78 f250 with the c6 auto married np 205 and dana 60s front and back.

anyone?

you best bet is to run the 727 and get a np241 out of a 94 up cummins it will be driver side drop and 29 spline. c6 will need to be from a diesel or rebuilt for a diesel, and the adaptors are spendy. if your stuck on runnin the 205, you can run the 727 with the 29 output and a ford 205 with the dodge 29 spline input.

The other advantage the Torqueflite has over the C6 is the additional OD gear which will give you better mileage on trips. I'd vote on ditching the C6 and 205. The np241 is a much beefire unit IMO.

But if you're sent on stayign with the C6 then I"m sure Advance Adapters can set you up with what you need. But you will need to rebuild it for the new application.

the 727 is one to one just like the c6 is. The 241 is, in my opinion a pile of junk. If you have ever pulled one apart youd understand. Secondly advanced adapters dont make squat for this type of thing

I just pulled a Cummins out of a F350 with a C6, and it is going into my truck with a 4x4 C6 and Gearvendors. Not sure what adapter was used but it looked to be a stock torque converter. I can take better pics this week while the motor is sitting on the stand.
