Well...driving my truck last night in town the possessed thing goes wot. So here we go truck bouncing off the rev limiter blowing black smoke around the square... wife screaming kids all saucer eyed...weeee. Stopped the truck and pulled the cable back, from under the hood and looked and it frayed bad so off to rockauto to get a cable..:D

Dang man. Lucky it didn't do any damage. These trucks can take a lot but with my luck if I ever had that happen once, that'd be all it took.

wow that makes me wonder if yours ever gets used.these old gal's can live at WOT brother.

edit; oh your the guy who scored that real low mile truck.
yeah.don't worry about using it.we may not have high hp or win races.we may be forgotten about and abandoned by most of the aftermarket world.we may be running diesels that most people have no idea even ever existed.but what we do have is a simple, low cost and one of,if not the most hard working diesel to have ever been placed under the hood of an f-series truck.you can load up and or hook up to all she'll take and hold her to the floor until either one of two things happen.
1.you brake the speed limit and need to back out of it.
or 2.you get to your destination.;Really

I wasn't meaning the WOT part, I know these trucks seem to love being at WOT, I was meaning more the bouncing off the rev limiter. But yes I try to baby this one, but I am on the hunt for some more that might not be so lucky LOL. I mostly use the 06 Dodge 3500 for the major towing jobs and for heavy work mainly just for staying legal when towing and not being overloaded as far the state laws are concerned. That is the only negative to these ole girls is the legal gcwr compared to the newer ones.

Oh also I cut open that filter for ya.

had it occurred to anyone that if it's so damn hard for us to find out what the GVWCR that DOT is going to have a harder time figuring it out too? hint....most DOT have even less of a clue of what we can haul. they base if we are legal or not by the door jam sticker and the trailer better not weight more than 10k/lbs GVW if you are driving with a class "C" non-com.
