i think this filter has a lot of surface area and would be a good filter before the electric fuel pump i'll be danged if i can find the right canister for it any info appreciated
I assume you are talking about the big primary fuel filter mounted on the passenger side of the engine? napa has them. Rock
what a dumb$$$ i didn't add the link i wanted to add this under the truck after the fuel selector valve before the pump https://www.oreillyauto.com/detail/.../6bf814fc80d2/wix-fuel-filter/wf10122/4837179
I honestly think you will be better off with getting a spin on filter assembly. The spin on filters are a lot easier to come by, not as messy, and probably filter much better. JMHO Rock
On my frame rail, after the FSV and before electric pump. Mine is a powerstroke, but you can do IDI the same way. I have a second fuel filter after the pump.
These are a good option: https://ph.parker.com/us/en/diesel-fuel-filter-spin-on/120at That lets you delete your factory W/S too, if you want to do so. My RV's W/S was gone when I got it, so I put a Racor head I pulled off a junk yard IDI years ago in the same spot as the factory W/S... which is how I found it on the salvage pickup it was on. I have it installed after the Holley Red fuel e-pump (mech lift pump deleted) so my system is like this: [tank]-[e-pump]-[Racor W/S filter]-[stock fuel filter]-[IP] I need to go put back the pre-filter before the e-pump. I removed it when I was diagnosing fuel pressure related timing issues. It's a cleanable/replaceable element one and it was leaky, so I might put a solid metal one and just replace it once it once a year since I can't see inside. It's too far from the Racor to bother running hoses back and worth, or I'd do that.
Here's a complete W/S kit for $30... https://www.ebay.com/itm/3-8-NPT-Fu...169473&hash=item361dccbccd:g:WhYAAOSwH4NZfE7E
I had one similar to yours on my truck and one day something shattered the plastic or nylon bowl on it, that’s why I changed to filter style with pet cock for drain.
