Fuel leak fixed???

Just got this 94 7.3 idi factory turbo and it was leaking fuel very bad from a line going into the IP I removed the line and threw a o-ring in there and tightened it again and it isn't leaking.
Why did the oring work when there wasn't one in there before?
Engine also was shaky before and now it isnt

I think there should be an "olive" which is like a little bit of hose that goes around the steel tubing under the fitting. Let me find the link to the olive thread I like.

Olives would be better, though the o ring will work for now. And now that it's not intermittently sucking air, it'll run smoother.

Good job figuring it out though. You might look inside the fitting and find the disentagrated remnants of the olive squishing the o ring against the other side and thus sealing.......but if it ain't broke.......

On the 8 little fuel lines exiting the ip none of them had the olives on them

They were thinking of the line that goes from the filter to the IP. You were talking about the injector lines. Just clarifying since I saw where you've already found the problem in your other thread.
