Hey guys. So I started my truck in -2 degree weather this morning. Took a little while but got it going on the 2nd or 3rd try.

Warmed up, started driving to work but with about 2 miles left, the fuel filter light came on. Truck started losing power, barely noticeable at first but by the time I got to work it felt like it would die if I let off the throttle. Finally died when I parked it and took it out of gear.

I am running a mix of opti lube and another diesel anti gel. When I checked the fuel lines, the wire on the underside of the filter had unplugged.

Depress the tire valve on the filter head while cranking or running and see if fuel comes out, if theres no fuel coming out your pump died

In this extremely cold weather if you have the least amount of water in the fuel system it could freeze in the suction lines. I would get a bottle of Diesel 911 and pour the whole thing in your fuel tank.

As already posted here. you need to check if fuel comes out the bleeder and then try the 911 fuel additive as suggested. It can't hurt but sure might open up the gelled or frozen lines.

Thanks for the pointers guys. It's up to 18 degrees now. I checked my fuel lines and didn't see any wax or bubbles. I added an extra helping of fuel treatment, primed the plugs twice and it started. Pretty smokey but she's idling ok now. Going to try and get to a parts store for some 911.

Filter light is also off but it feels like it's idling kinda low. Sitting down around 550
