First long trip in my 89

Im gonna be taking the 89 c-6 truck to gatlinburg today, wont be back till friday, i already flshed the trans fluid with a machine and changed the filter, didnt change the oil cause it wasnt time but i spun a new filter on it and filled it back up, checked and inspected all belts and hoses seemed good, i have tools in the truck and a spare starter alternator fuel pump fuel filter and voltage regulator in the truck, im gonna buy some starting fluid just in case, altho i doubt it will ever need it because the glow plugs and controller is all new from uhual,

I will be sure and update this when we arrive at our cabin later in gatliburg should be an interesting trip, i know some of yall probly think well thats not far, well its far to me lol

GPS says 160 miles, im gonna fill up at a truck stop in crossville and buy some howes and add to the tank, should be pretty fun

Shoot, that's not bad. 160 miles is a good shakedown trip for the rig. Dude, I wish I could get away to Gatlinburg for a weekend. A good time for sure. I'm hoping to have a camper sometime in the near furture. Lots of good campgrounds there. Maybe we can go this summer or fall. The Hauted House near the Aquarium is always on my list. My wife hates it, but it is fun.

Truck done great all the way here, we arrived at 4:30 eastern time, i filled up in crossville and only used a quarter tank from there to here in gatlinburg! thats pretty good! running 65-70 on the interestate taching 2700-3000 rpm the whole time, truck got hot comming up this mountain to our cabin and were the road was wet i kept spinning cause its so steep

My grandpa grew up in Tennessee and always used to reminisce about his times in Gatlinburg. Always promised to take us kids out there one summer, but he passed away two months into his retirement (five days after buying a Winnebago.)

One of these days I would like to make the trek out that way...

I am having fun buddy all except spending money that part aint fun lol, as soon as i get back and we fid a bell housing we will tear yor truck apart, after i help you do this you better not sell it, if you do it better be to me!!!
