installed a holley black pump today, cranked the regulator to 8 psi, figured id try it out.
i didnt wanna wait for the facet pump.
what a M'F'N difference!!!!!

this IP rocks something feirce!!!
power is up aprox 25%, from the last IP.
it only smokes when i have the engine loaded up.
at top RPM, she clears right out.
now to get my timing spot on and my FMIC ON!

time to hit the drags!!!

Hell ya man! Glad to here it. A bonus with the duralift pump is the built in check valve so unless you are visibly leaking diesel you wont lose your prime . Cant wait to see what time you post at the drags, sub 15? ya think? Happy for you dude.

and either replaced my springs, and or added a set of traction bars
a 15 sec pass isnt out of the question.
curious how a set of hoosiers, and 4 high would do.
altho my trans may grenade.

Amazing what fuel flow under the correct pressure and volume will make happen. Then factor in the Moose Misters and the Bull Moose pump. Get in... Shut up & hang on.... Thru all this I have learned something about injection pumps requiring a certain amount of fuel pressure. I have known all along these pumps have a very small internal vaned pump and we can run ok but not well with no lift pump working. Travis ran the enterprise down the road feeling something was not right. Then remembered to turn on the electric lift pump. Engine took right off running normally again. So they do run but not that well.
Another interesting note is these engines run 180 degrees out of gear time. That means some tech that did not know of the dot and the y timing marks in the injection pump gear. So they matched up the dot on the cam gear to the y on the injection pump gear. The engine runs but very badly. It will not time either. Ron and I figured this out one nite. He just got a truck for repairs after it just got a new injection pump. I asked if the repair guy took off the injection pump gear cover. He said yeap. Thats when we agreed it probably was not gear timing correctly. Even if its one tooth off gear time it will run but not time and run badly.

That's interesting! so that wee little vane pump produces enough vaccuum to pull fuel out of the tank....Whoda thunk. I guess I'll give that lift pump under the rear seat to someone. Anyone need a new napa lift pump? It makes 3psi I'm bringing it back monday.

no sir, it does not pull fuel.
i have it mounted underneath where the FSV used to be.
gravity feeds the pump, and the pump pushes the fuel to the filter then IP
