Few questions regarding oil..

hopefully you got the right pan filter. I didn't have a filter in my tranny when i got the truck (it was drained and filter removed) and both Autozone, Advance, and Bennett sold the same filter for the 2wd and 4x4 C6 so mine would suck air and slip.

PLus their gasket sucked, as it leaked. Ordered a good filter kit from API with the correct filter and duraprene gasket and no more leaks.

The standard filter is for a 2wd, and the dt1 filter is for a 4x4. They are pretty much the same, except the dt1 sits deeper for the deeper 4x4 pan.

I use 5W30 Diesel Oil year round. So far 4100 miles on it and many years and miles to go.
Cold weather starting is improved with a -58F pour point and Hot weather protection with a 471F flash point.
TBN is high at 12.1 for super long drain interval.
15W40 would eat into my fuel consumption too much so I switched to 5W30 and it worked!
22mpg city driving, hwy unknown, havent taked a trip yet!
