Ok, I've decided to scrap my dually project. With the price of gasoline these days I will never be able to feed a big block stroker V8 and put the insurance on the truck. Plus the construction industry is about shot around here this year, and driving a dump truck 40 hours a week just ain't cutting it. :frustrate

I have a full width dually pickup rearend that I'm going to put under my F250 :Thumbs Up. It has 4.11's in it and, my truck has factory 3.54's under it now. I don't know if I want to keep the 4.11's or change out the gears back to 3.54's . The truck hardly EVER sees towing. I use the truck for travelling back and forth to work, and because I feel safer in the 4x4 in the wintertime (rather than our plastic 2004 Grand Am.) I used to plow with it, but I don't to plow with it anymore.

I have the fender flares, 6 rims, good U-bolts and some other odds and ends if I need them.

What I don't have is the dually adapters that backspace the front axle to run the dually rims up front.

I think my factory driveshaft will work because the housings are the same legnth (driveshaft flange to steady bearing distance). The brakes are shot on the dually axle and I want to replace EVERYTHING with new before I bolt it on (wheel cylinders, drums, shoes, springs and cables). Can you guys think of anything else I might nees before I tear the truck apart.

Swap the gears on in the rear axles, it's easy - I did it when I did my 4x4 swap. I can help with that if needed, not a big job and mine has be working great for over a year now....I'm buying goof's dually, not sure what I'm going to do with it yet. At the very least it would give me some good spares for my F350 dually like rear springs and etc....Now I just need to get my dually ready to plow so Goof can run it for me this winter.:sly...Who wouldn't want to plow snow with somebody else's big block powered F350 4x4...:D:rotflmao.

Those pics are what I have right now. The 351 4V H.O. in the truck (I'd LOVE to keep this and build something out of it, but it's already in the truck) the ZF S5-42 (minus the toasted flywheel, clutch disc, pressure plate and slave cylinder/throw out bearing) the MINT 1997 F350 C&C frame, with a MINT 1997 cab. Both front fenders are totally rust free and in new condition, a BRAND NEW radiator support and lots of crossmembers and other odds and ends. Four like new 215/85R16's across the back minus the rear axle (which is going under my F250)

I have a spare 351 W EFI out of the parts truck I bought to build this thing if you want that too....someone was going to buy it for $250 but never showed. I've got well over $1500 tied up in this, but the g/f is after me to get rid of it. She wants to get rid of the F250 too, but she'll have to pry the keys from my cold dead hands......lol.....don't tell her I said that or she will...:backoff

my very own hell
When you put the dually axle in, add the F350 overload springs too, as then you can really use full benefits of the dually axle. Add a swaybar too, if you ain't gone one and if you fly on the freeway a lot, it helps big time.
