I finally got the engine out of my f-250. It was a pain in my back side. I could not get the ATS turbo up-pipe off the turbo no matter what I did. I ended up using “towcat” idea of raising the cab of the truck. I put 4x4 blocks under the cab mount and then had room to pull the engine out.
Thanks to all you; for your ideas and thoughts on the above
I now am change out the parts to the new-used motor.
I changed out the injectors to new and put new return lines. I found out the new-used motor had 3 different types of injectors (aa, a and bb).
I also changes out the injector gear cover housing. I wanted the tach to work and the new-used motor did not have the tach hole. This was not that bad to do. You can hold the gear when you pull the cover up, this way it will not jump a tooth.
I plan on Wednesday to rebuild the oil-cooler with help of a friend.
Wednesday and Thursday put the engine all the way back to together. I.e. new motor mounts, turbo and new valve cover gaskets.
Saturday put the motor it back in the truck then the transmission after that.
Sunday new cab mount and finish up the all the small stuff.
Once again thanks for your help on how to do a lot of these thing done.
Ethan
