Engine oil for 7.3 idi?

They used to make a cf-4 oil that's for 4 strokes.there must be enough of a difference.

The CF rating replaced the obsolete CD and CE rating, which is what the 30wt was in 1984 .

Use any oil that says “diesel” on it.
Hell, use any oil that says “oil” on it will work just fine lol.
These engines don’t really care as long as your not filling it with water or gear oil.

gear oil.

My FIL adds a whole bottle of lucas to each car during a oil change. You should hear it on startup and several minutes afterwards. Lol
One being a v6 dodge, the other a 11 gmc v6 (that are already known for issues with the oil operated valve timing system) lol

Does this discussion have anything to do with money? As it's part of total cost of operation, the most expensive oil mentioned here is still pocket lint.
