doe,
I'm offshore working here in the gulf at the moment (be home in 10-15 days).
If you are interested I have a set of Delphi injectors I can send ya....
Just name your price.
spare parts and whatnot.
They were purchased new, gave a horrible engine knock after 5,000miles.
I found a set of stanadynes that were brand new and tested for $80 so I threw them in when I did the moose pump.

Anyway, probably only one of the injectors is bad, but I was in business at the time and didn't have the time for downtime.

Drew

Thanks for the offer.

We'll make that PLAN-B.

I'm going to test mine and see if they are usable. I can correct pressure, but probably not spray pattern.

I did lose a small part, the piece that goes between the spring and the needle, and I'll probably need some more shims. NO idea where to get them.

Hey you can get the shims at US Diesel Parts. You have to give them the diameter of the shims. That diameter will let you know if you can get them dirt cheap or if they will be prohibitively expensive. I didn't read what Drew wrote you but I'm sure it was about hydraulic injection injuries. I assumed being an aircraft mech and working with high pressure hydraulics all the time you knew about those risks. What I don't understand is the need to involve the welding gases to make your pressure. On the other hand I've had no luck getting a jack to hold enough pressure, not even close, so maybe that setup is best for you, but be careful.

Thanks for the tip. I expect I will need shims.

If I can find a spare steel injection line, I will weld that to a generic fitting and attach that fitting to my pressurized bottle of diesel. Or, even more unlikely, finding a fitting that connects the steel line to the IP body, would also work.

For pressure, I will use a 2800psi bottle of argon, and pipe it into a bottle of diesel. The pressurized diesel will then flow through the injector.

It's a dirt simple setup. And, I did find the small piece I was missing. Seems, Igor, my assistant, left it in the shop when he disassembled an injector.

BAD BAD BAD Igor! :idiot::idiot::idiot:
