With the recent larger tires, I'm about 5mph off at 30mph. IN the old days chevy trany's had different colored gears that had different teeth counts. Do we have the same for E4ODs. I need to change this to calibrate my speedometer.

I just had mine calibrated. The speedo shop installed a 4 gear black box. I was 15% slow even though my speedo was fast by about 10 to 12 mph. My problem started with Gear Vendors sending me the wrong gear. They use the GM gears and can supply from 34 to 45 tooth gears. Even after I got the correct gear I was still off so thats why I had the speed increaser gearbox installed. Ford does sell differant gears and they are differant colors. The original E4OD gear I had was 19 tooth and lite brown in color. My output shaft had 17 teeth on it I think. Its been some time since I did that count and now I don't use that drive any more because of the GV unit.
