I changed my glowplugs and I think I got a bit of an arc when the air cleaner touched the glow plug relay.


Everything was fine with the tranny until then,

I have tryed to run codes but nothing happens,

I tested the EEC relay and its good on all circuits,

I went through my fuses and all are fine

I put in another tach sensor and its fine as well.

I could check tps and mlps but its likely both are fine they look pretty new the transmission is new as well.

How can I test the TCM to see if it has power in the box or is toast?

I am thinking its not getting power because of the situation just not sure where to look to fix it.

What year is your truck? Tell us a bit about the truck. Put truck info into a sig block.


Have you checked all fuses? There are some under the dash, and there are some under the hood.

Its a 1990 f250 ext cab 4x4

Obviously its an automatic,

It could be a fusable link but I would think something else would also go

Under the hood are the 2 relays I tested the one for the tcc and it appears to have power.

My Od light doesn't appear dim and nor is it flashing.


I am pretty certain its an electronic problem the fact I got no codes or engagement in the testing program makes me think that the computer is toast

So I went ahead and bought a code reader,

I get a 23 code. Tps out of range,

So I tested my tips and set it to 1.2v at idle and 4.5 at wot, and it made no difference.


So I replaced the tps with a brand new one and adjusted it and still have the same issue.


The voltage is correct but the computer doesn't think so

anyone had a similar problem?

What does this lead to?

Bad wiring or shot ecm?

Anything else.

During Testing, did you hold the pedal down?

Made that mistake. If you don't let it do a full scan cycle at full throttle, you'll always get 23

Yes when it flashes the 10 code asking for the pedal to be pushed down


Not sure what to do here, something like this makes me want to burn the truck

Regardless truck is in limp mode with either no codes, or with code 23.

Check the wiring and connectors for damage.
