Back this up with a link later, but from the very front of the block to the rear, its 40.2 long. Bear in mind a 5.9 ******** is about 36... YOU WILL change your radiator mounting, and.. it will hang out more in the tunnel than your v motor. Approximately 8" (10" will have to re measure tomorrow) longer than a v-8 IDI.

Took a deposit on my 6.9 tonight, and am going to go put said deposit down on my 6.6...

Will re-update the "My IDI swap" thread, with a full plethora of pics of my 6.6, and all the facts I can find online.

If neverenufhp jumps in, he IS the guru. Capable of supporting 4 figure hp on stock head bolts, amazing damned motors. Torq to hp ratio is consistently 1:2.5.. e.g. a 350 hp 6.6 is flirting with 850 ft lbs of torque, with similar curve parameters to a ********.

7.8 and 6.6 are same length, difference is 3/4 inch more stroke. 6.6 is 4.4 x 4.4, 7.8 is 4.4 x 5.1 or 5.2" stroke, Deck height is supposed to be 2" or better taller though. I have no validation for that. (the deck height) if your buddies is new enough, it will be p-pumped, if not, Bosch MW most likely.
