Do you think this is a good deal? Opinions please...

I had a buddy of mine offer me a truck today. Wanted to know your opinions on good deal or bad. 1985 F-350, 6.9L, auto, 4x4, snowplow, runs and drives (though I don't know how well yet), body decent to fair (getting rusty, work truck). Has about 100,000 miles on it. He wants $1,800 for it. I don't know much about these trucks or what they're worth. Any advice you guys could give me for price range or what I should check out when I go look at it would be appreciated.

The F-350 is coveted for its solid front axle, as Ford installed split (TTB) axles in the 80's F-250's. If the plow is good I think that's a good price.

I just sold an '89 F-350 4x4 w/ a 460 a month or so ago. I had guys scrambling all over to get at it for their mudders. Supposedly, the plow works great. It was their farm plow truck until my buddy got his Cummins back with a new IP and trans.

What kind of plow is on it?
Does it have a Dana 60 solid front axle?

i sold my 85 F250 4x4 about the same miles and similer to yours it sounds like body wise for 1500 and he thought it was a good deal. he had friends tell him he got a great deal and he was happy.

being that it has the awsome d60 solid front i think it would be worth even more.

i would say if it runs well its well worth it

If its a true F350 it would be worth that in parts.
The motor is worth almost that as a core.
