Hello Folks!
I got some work done on my 94 7.3 n/a this weekend. I replaced all the fuel return lines with clear tygon, bled the hell out of the system, seems like there are no leaks now. Truck still doesnt fire. I cracked the injector nuts and found that there is no fuel at the injectors, but fuel is pumping through the return lines. I checked for voltage at the FSS connector which is good. I pulled the cover off the IP to check function of the FSS. I jumped the FSS connectors and it did not engage right away but popped after a couple seconds. After that initial pop, it worked as soon as it saw voltage. I am wondering if the plunger may have been stuck somehow, however, I also noticed a crack running down one side of the FSS and another, smaller crack across the top. I am wondering if, maybe it wasnt working while submerged in fuel because it would have been full of fuel. Either way, I think it should be replaced.
Does anyone have a good source for these? I was able to find one for 60$ from AccurateDiesel.com. Also - Is there anything else in the system that could prevent fuel from pumping to the injectors? Lastly - Is there a good write up of how to reinstall the FSS and cover onto the IP? I hear that it is delicate.
