D50/d60 quiestion

I'm not for sure, but IIRC, D50 knuckles and D60 will interchange, but spindles and outers beyond that are different. The info is all over Pirate4x4 and FullsizeBronco. Also Google Mr. N's axle identification (should be a "lime" in the url). Lots of good info there too.

Just because something may fit doesnt me it shoukd be done.

Not saying it does or does not but 50 uses a ztamped metal setup and 60 is a cast setup.

It may fit but spindle and so forth are not designed to carry same weight as 60.

In my opinion not PROPERLY compatible....get ya home emergency compatible maybe...

Something tells me and cant find where read it they dont work...

Riot, look up the front GAWR of a D50 truck, and then that of a D60 truck. Lemme know what numbers you come up with...

Looked closely at 50 and 60 bj knuckles and it would appear it would work.

Bj spacing appears same. I am not measuring right now to the 9nth degree but eyeballed with tape the same.

Didnt measure tierod placement.

So ifn yer 50 knuckles are in ok shape eh...why not you jist have a slightly lower weight capacity. If it gets you by for now...maybe its worth while.

Would I do it personally...likely not unless emergency.

Good thing is.....yer not me.

If you do that on one side, do it on the other as well. Don't want to run into some obscure alignment problem down the road because of one ever so slightly different knuckle.

I agree and to the pooint of this I am not tossing a pair of 50 knuckles on shelf...JiC I know or someone close has a 60 bj knuckle failure.

Fortunately for myself my 2 complete D60s are of KP design

You will definitely have funky steering if you mix them. In the link in my signature (I hate to pimp it but there are great pics in there) go to post #2. There is a side by side pic of the two knuckles. You would definitely have to match them!
